Backgrounds:
Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of him/herself and his/her family. Healthy eating, active living, healthy relationship and healthy practice are the four main aspects of the healthy living performance standards. Different exposures of men and women to various socio-economic and environmental factors may lead to unequal health outcomes and standard of living. This seminar attempts to invite speakers from diverse background to examine the impact of gender equality on healthy standard of living for all, and to discuss how to fill the gender gap to optimize standard of healthy living. 

Objectives of the seminar:
1.         Discuss gender equality, socio-economic determinants of health, and healthy standard of living for all
2.         Examine existing policies in Hong Kong that protect or hinder human rights of healthy standard of living for all
3.         Increase the awareness of the public and government regarding the impact of gender equalities on adequate living standard for the health and well being
4.         Discuss how to fill the gender gap to optimize standard of healthy living from perspectives of the academic, policy maker, advocator and the public
